Mekies, who visited Silverstone for a 2025 car filming day, highlighted Horner’s remarkable achievements and the team’s evolution under his guidance, noting the surreal feeling of stepping into the role without his predecessor. As Mekies assumes leadership, he aims to leverage the existing talent within Red Bull Racing, emphasizing the significance of nurturing and empowering the team members for success amid upcoming regulatory changes and the transition to Red Bull Powertrains engines for 2026.
